Rod. I've been thinking all evening about the way the surface began effervescing that sparkling talc when you cast the second intensifier. Was it resisting our efforts to unravel it or responding? The more I think about it, the more I wonder if it wasn't an effect of your spell being repelled. Is that possible?

It is not only possible, but correct. I didn't like to point it out to you in hopes that you would make the connection on your own, and look there, you've done just that.

This is fairly sophisticated hex-layering, though not the most complex I've encountered. I've a few things in my collection which not only resist deconstruction, but will actually react violently when the attempt is made.

I would do her a disservice to turn away such an eager pupil. Please arrive whenever you like.
